Hello DHUMP Parents, Did you know that Fellini’s has been supporting DHUMP for 19 years with free pizza on Pizza Day? That’s right, they will donate over 240 pizzas to our kids this year alone. This started because both of the owners was a DHUMP parent, oh so many years ago. And it has continued every year since. Amazingly generous!
So we have arranged a couple of appreciation nights this month. This is how it will work. We want to support the locations that do the hard work baking pies for us each month. So on Monday, December 12th we will mob the McClendon Ave location in Candler Park. And on Tuesday, December 13th we will do the same at the Ponce de Leon Ave location in Poncey Highlands.
All you have to do is pick a night and a location, go the restaurant for a sit down dinner or order a pie to pick up to take home to the kids. It should be fun at the restaurant with all of the other DHUMP families. Just be sure to tell them that you’re a DHUMP family so that they know how much we appreciate all that they do for us. And don’t forget to leave a nice tip for the cooks and wait staff that always take such good care of us.
We picked these days because everyone will likely need a break from fixing dinner with the hoilday rush coming upon us. And, there isn’t a pizza day in December because of the holiday break, so the kids will have to get their fix. Here are the dates again.

We know everyone is in a hurry, but please be careful while driving through the parking lot! Keep our children safe!!
Please remember not to leave valuable items in your car while picking up or dropping off your children. We have not had an incident this holiday season & hope to keep it that way.

Happy Holidays!

Through Dec. 8th HOLIDAY FEST AT BARNES & NOBLE
Just a reminder all DHUMP families AND friends/relatives can still shop at Barnes & Noble online as part of our fundraising bookfair event. Just go to www.BarnesandNoble.com between now and this Thursday, December 8th to buy toys, books, even electronics like the Nook eReader. They make great holiday gifts!
Also if you received a wish list from your child’s teacher or just have a great idea of what might be useful or fun for their classroom you can purchase any item from B&N online and have it delivered either to you or to DHUMP in care of the teacher.
When making an online purchase, remember to use the voucher #10581262 to ensure DHUMP gets credit for a portion of the sale.
Please forward this email to anyone you know who would be interested in shopping for a good cause.
Thank you for supporting our school and happy holidays!

Greetings, DHUMP Parents! ‘Tis the season to thank those who make a difference in our children’s lives. Most preschool classes organize a group gift for the teachers, but did you know that there are 12 additional staff members at DHUMP who do not have a regular classroom? Our enrichment teachers (Ms. Laura, Mr. David, Ms.Susan, etc.), custodian, and front office staff deserve a holiday bonus as well, so this year I am organizing a collection to honor these folks. Look for posters in the stairwells and hallways describing this special collection and for envelopes labeled “HolidayFund” located in the main office, and in Monica and Arianna’s Italian Class. Any amount will be much appreciated!
There are three ways you can contribute: cash, check (made out to Danielle Beck, delivered to a collection envelope location, given to teachers Monica or Arianna, or mailed to my house: 1197 Beech Valley Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30306), or via paypal to corey_beck@hotmail.com.
All contributions must be collected by 1:30 on Wednesday, December 14. The cards with the bonuses will be distributed on the following Thursday and Friday. If you have any questions, please track me down in the hallway or email me (dlyonsbeck@email.com).
Through the years, parents who have lead this collection effort have been humbled by the generosity of our preschool families. Let’s keep this wonderful tradition alive!
Many thanks, Danielle Beck (Julia’s mom)

FarmMobile is back in VaHi! After much prodding, FarmMobile is coming back to the neighborhood this Thursday. They are going to make VaHi a regular stop every other Thursday. But we need to visit them so they will keep coming! I’ll send out a note here to remind everyone, but you can also ‘Like’ them on Facebook to get regular updates on their schedule.
FarmMobile will be in the upper parking lot at Druid Hills United Methodist Church at the corner of Briarcliff Road and Ponce De Leon Ave. Easiest access to the parking lot is from the traffic light at Briarcliff Road and St. Charles Place. They will be there from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm. That means that you should be able to swing by after preschool and before SPARK releases.
For those of you unfamiliar with FarmMobile, it’s a mobile farmers market providing locally sourced produce, meat, bread, cheese and other goodies. Most of the produce is from Riverview Farms in Ranger. The grassfed beef and pastured Berkshire pork are from Riverview Farms too. The eggs are from a small farm just around the corner from Riverview, which provides the chicken feed. Some of the cheeses come from as far away as Tennessee. The chicken is from White Oak Pastures in Bluffton.
Eat local. Eat Organic
